Marine and Coastal Opportunities (MACO) at Oregon State University connects students and faculty with the Oregon coast through experiential learning. Thanks to generous support, students from all majors can “put the ocean” into their academic pathway. MACO collaborates across the university to support learning, teaching, and exploration of coastal communities and ecosystems.

Students gain experience through field courses, research projects, internships, and extracurricular activities. These transformative experiences help students build practical skills, deepen their understanding of coastal and marine issues, and prepare for careers.

MACO provides a centralized source of funding for all OSU students to integrate coastal learning into their studies no matter
